What is the Flex from 1st campaign
You are probably aware that your rights as an employee vary depending on the length of service and at present the right to request flexible working is available to only those employees that have at least 26 weeks service. However last September the government published details of a consultation to give employees the right to request flexible working from day 1. This was backed by the CIPD who had already launched a campaign in Feb 2021. Current research shows that approx. 50% of employees do not have access to any form of flexible working and that those workers feel dissatisfied.
There are a number of different types of flexible working arrangements and the benefits are wide from greater work life balance and employee wellbeing to greater productivity.
